How to Actually Apply What You Read
Most of what we read fades within days. These simple habits turn books into real change.

Reading a great book feels good, but the feeling fades fast. The difference between readers who change and readers who don't is rarely the book. It is what happens after the last page.
Read with a question
Before you start, write down one question you want the book to answer. It gives your reading a purpose and helps you notice what matters.
Capture, don't collect
Highlight less. When something strikes you, write one line in your own words about how it applies to your life.
- Note the idea.
- Note where you could use it.
- Note the first small step.
Pick one change
At the end, choose a single idea to practise for the next two weeks. One applied idea is worth more than twenty remembered ones.
Teach it
Explain the idea to a friend or write a short summary. Teaching shows you what you really understood.
Revisit
Come back to your notes after a month. Ask what changed and what you would like to try next.
